12th PATHFINDER WALK

MONDAY 31st AUGUST 2009

Event Registration No:
BWF93/E1/09

DETAILS

The event is named after the 2nd World War Pathfinder Squadrons which flew from airfields which surround the area of the walk. Distances of 14/23/32/42km are on offer with wonderful views across the countryside over which the Pathfinder Squadrons would have flown on their vital missions.
This will be the 12th Pathfinder Walk, jointly organised by 73Sqn Walking Club and 73 (Huntingdon) Sqn. Air Training Corps. Teams are especially encouraged from youth organisations, the military, social and business groups.
Although this is not a sponsored walk the organisers have no objection to the event being used by participants to raise money for their own particular cause or charity.

This year another aircraft from the five used by the Pathfinder Squadrons appears on the  mug and certificate. In all there will be five different mugs each depicting one of the aircraft flown by the Pathfinder Squadrons. The first event had the most famous of them all the Mosquito, then the Lancaster, Wellington, Halifax and the Stirling to find out this years look out for the entry forms at BWF and LDWA events. Or else come and take part and have your own certificate and mug.
